The symphony continues with Rossini’s Introduction\, Theme\, and Variations for Clarinet and Orchestra\, which highlights the exceptional skill of Maximiliano Martín\, and Bottesini’s Fantasia ‘Lucia di Lammermoor’ for Double Bass and Orchestra\, which spotlights the technical virtuosity of Nikita Naumov. \n\n\n\nThe programme concludes with Mendelssohn’s ‘Italian’ Symphony\, a piece inspired by the composer’s trip to Italy in 1830\, and one of his warmest and most evocative symphonies.
