SUMMARY:Shape the future of Elgin
DESCRIPTION:Elgin locals have an opportunity to help shape the future of Elgin. Moray Council officers are inviting locals to contribute to the development of the new Moray Local Development Plan that will guide the usage of land and buildings for the next 10 to 20 years. This plan will significantly impact everyday life in Elgin\, affecting aspects such as work\, travel\, access to green spaces\, recreation\, and health. \n\n\n\nTo facilitate this important discussion\, a drop-in exhibition is scheduled to take place at the Elgin Town Hall on Saturday\, May 27th\, from 10am to 3pm. Locals are encouraged to share their ideas and vision for the development of not only Elgin but the wider Moray region. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition will seek input on various topics\, including ideas for improving Elgin\, potential sites for new housing\, thoughts on rejuvenating the town centre\, and broader Moray issues such as climate change and infrastructure delivery. Two facilitated sessions\, to take place at 11am and 2pm\, will be held with council officers to map out these ideas. \n\n\n\nThis event in Elgin is part of a series\, following successful consultations in Forres\, Aberlour\, and Dufftown. Further discussions will be held in Lossiemouth on June 17th\, Fochabers on June 22nd\, and Buckie on August 26th. \n\n\n\nThe gathered feedback will be invaluable in shaping the Local Development Plan 2027\, set to serve as a developmental blueprint for the entire Moray region. The “Shape the Future of Elgin” event will also feature representatives from the Moray Growth Deal projects\, including Early Years STEM\, who will be presenting family-friendly STEM activities. Children will be able to explore the latest STEM digital technology\, including augmented reality and robot coding. Fun construction challenges and science investigations will also be available for all family members. \n\n\n\nIt is critical to make your voice heard\, for the sake of the future of our area.

SUMMARY:School of Rock
DESCRIPTION:Elgin’s much loved St. Giles’ Theatre Group present School of Rock. \n\n\n\nThe legendary Andrew Lloyd Webber\, renowned for bringing rock and romance to the London stage\, returns with another heartwarming hit—SCHOOL OF ROCK. Hailed as a New York Times Critics’ Pick\, Entertainment Weekly praises it as “an inspiring jolt of energy\, joy\, and mad skillz!” \n\n\n\nIn this hilarious musical adaptation of the beloved film\, we follow the story of Dewey Finn\, a down-on-his-luck wannabe rock star who tries to make some extra cash by pretending to be a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. In a whirlwind of electric riffs and snappy rhythms\, Dewey transforms a group of straight-A students into an extraordinary rock band\, all while imparting the true spirit of rock. As Dewey connects with the school’s stunning yet uptight headmistress\, The New York Times warns\, “be warned! There’s a love story in this one.” \n\n\n\nWith 14 fresh tunes from the maestro Andrew Lloyd Webber\, plus all the original songs from the movie\, SCHOOL OF ROCK is a thrilling blend of exhilarating guitar solos and heartwarming romance. The Daily News exclaims that Webber “awakens the empowering message of rock!” while Time Out New York declares\, “School’s in—forever!”
