DESCRIPTION:Elgin Musical Theatre (previously Elgin Operatic Society) will be performing Sunshine on Leith between March 1st and 4th\, 2023. Wednesday to Saturday at 7.30pm\, with a Saturday matinee at 2pm. \n\n\n\nIn Sunshine on Leith\, Ally and his pal Davy struggle to adjust back to normal life after returning from a tour serving in Afghanistan. Ally’s marriage proposal is rejected\, and his childhood sweetheart\, a nurse disillusioned with the NHS\, moves to the USA to develop her career. Meanwhile\, Davy gets a job in a call center while his parents argue over his father’s infidelity. The musical explores the challenges of love\, family\, and friendship with humor and good heart. Many young audiences have their first taste of live theater at a McDougalls performance. Their productions have gained a popular reputation with children around the world\, with their albums\, digital music\, and online TV shows gaining fans in the USA\, Spain\, Greece\, and Australia. In addition to their popular stage shows\, their educational musicals for schools and nurseries are performed for 20\,000 pupils each year.
